Introduction of course and topic ~15min
After a brief introduction of myself and of the course, I am going to discuss with the class what they already know about energy. This includes a definition, what forms energy can take, and its conservation when dealing with closed systems. We will then focus on the equations describing translational kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy.
Perhaps if the class is older, we can show how they are derived using the work definition F dx and a bit of calculus.
