Kinematics

There are Three essential Kinematics Equations we need to know to solve problems involving the movements, speeds, accelerations, and time. These equations and the other Force equations can also be found in the formula sheet attached to the Physics Provincial Exam.

Vf = Vi + at

Vf² = Vi² + 2ad

 d = Vi t + ½at²

Free Body Diagram are used to represent the Forces, Direction in which objects move, Many other information of the state of the objects, such as acceleration, Tension, etc.

After reviewing the force equations and kinematics equations, the following steps need to be approached :

1.                 With the mass known, we can find out how much gravitational force acts on the mass.

2.                 Since the force acting on the known on this mass, we can find out the acceleration of this mass.

3.                 Since there is no friction acting on this mass, we can neglect the value of normal force and force of friction.

4.                 With the set distance (with using the triggered timer at each ends) we know how much time it will take to travel the distance with known acceleration.
