The Planning

A reoccurring theme in my project was that initial designs do not always work in practice. Below is my first design:

In order to build my project, I took a 40 hour student machine shop course offered within the physics department. When I completed the course, I realized that I was going to need many more details in my diagrams in order to start building. My improved design was drawn in pencil, so it is not very clear, but it can be seen here.

Originally, I was also going to build a secondary project to compliment the ramp. However, I felt the ramp could do everything the secondary project was going to do anyway, so I didn't bother building it. Plans for the second demonstration.

For an in depth look at the construction details (such that you could probably build the project yourself) you can click here.
