Demostrations

The apparatus shown in Figure 7 is half filled with water.  The reflection of a light ray from the water to air is clearly visible.  Notice that the angle of incidence is the same as the angle of reflection.  Because none of the light is refracted (theoretically), the ray can be said to have undergone total internal reflection.
